MacKenzie Lee, LMHC, C-DBT

  • I am an experienced child and adolescent clinician who values a collaborative approach in my therapeutic work with young individuals and their families. I am DBT trained and have experience working in acute mental health services, outpatient settings, and in-home behavioral therapy with children on the Autism Spectrum. I utilize treatment modalities such as creative arts, play therapy, and crisis intervention in my work with clients. I aim to create a comfortable, nurturing, and trusting environment that fosters growth and resilience in and outside of therapy sessions.

  • I hold a Master’s degree from Lesley University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy. I also obtained a B.S. in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. I completed two years of clinical internships focusing on community performance arts in dance and movement, and acute crisis intervention with children and adolescents. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and have experience supporting individuals in various settings with anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders, self-harm behaviors, suicidality, and trauma.

  • I value a collaborative approach in my therapeutic work with young people and their families. I believe that using an integrative approach in therapy provides flexibility to meet a client where they are at. I utilize client centered, trauma-informed, and cognitive principles to guide my work with clients. With my background in the performing arts and expressive arts therapy, I often encourage clients to explore their creative sides as a form of healing.

  • Some of my favorite things include my orange cat Patty, traveling, dancing, and airplane spotting! When I’m not out and about, I enjoy reading, completing puzzles, and playing board games with my favorite people.
